Ceramics no more

Hello again,
Here's my series of podcasts on the dissolution of the Ceramics Program at OCAD.
I actually have another 3 interviews via audio recording, but I was really interested in working with film editing, as I'd never done that before. I found Final Cut Pro to be too complex, even after our in class demo, so I did all of them on iMovie. It took me a long time to figure it out, but I have a vague idea how to edit video in it now!

I did a series because it seemed that I was either without a 'story' of the 'interview' was too long... so I tried editing numerous different sets of film.

Enjoy!

A very important story for our community, told from the first person point of view by the people it is affecting the most. Your autobiographical interview is straightforward and direct, and you have also included other points of view for support, contrast and balance. Your point about communication comes through very strongly in all of your interviews. From a technical point of view, the interviews are well conducted and captured and you have done a good simple editing job. It seems that the audio in the thesis student interviews may have become overly compressed in the podcasting export. The other interviews do not suffer from this problem. Very well done.

This is a really excellent series of short videocasts. Your own statement is very well balanced and your account is illuminating. Admin shouldn't pounce on you for talking to students first, and if there's a climate of rumours and fears, it speaks of poor not-open-enough communication. That said, I'm glad to hear that there's the possibility of renewal and that the fabrication studios will continue. Also, I hope more interdisciplinary options will make Art students feel less strategically at odds with design. I like your web page interface as well. Excellent work.

Thank you! I'll hopefully be adding more podcasts to this in the near future (I have another 3 interviews on audio about the subject).
