Hey everyone
Just an update on what the focus of my thesis has become inorder to differenciate and strengthen its "collaboration" focus.
the big idea is:
An online network to expose, develop and support effective methodologies and ideas.
That's it in one sentence. It will be executed in the next semester and the process books will be designed as well.
It's been great to be a part of this class. I won't be present the next class but I will post my architecture assignment and have it in Judith's place for next week. If I can get online, I'll see you there. If not, it's been a pleasure having you all in the class.
The guest speakers were wonderful.
Thanks Martha and Judith.

Thanks, Ghazaleh -- It's been great having your warm, thoughtful and committed energy in the class - Great luck w/ next semester and beyond.
I really hope to see you on Dec. 12 for critiques online. Also, some of our class may be attending presentations for Xerox on December 19 -- let me know if you are around and available. Time TBA
Re: your sentence -- do you mean "An online network to expose, develop and support effective COLLABORATION methodologies and ideas."? The word collaboration seems missing to me...
Judith - thanks for the warm note. I'll most likely make it online for the first half of the class. I'll also be around for the Xerox presentation if you'd like me to attend.
Since the post I've been rewriting and visually mapping out my website idea. So, now, it's this:
A site measuring the potential evolution and actualization of an idea through collaboration.
(who knows, might be re-worded again)
Basically, I went back to why I originally came up with this idea and I connected everything I had learned since then throughout my classes, research and experiences. It came down to: problem solving. I did an assay on "a sustainable idea", meaning basically, the process and methodologies for actualizing an idea, whose success is determined by its effectiveness, proof of impact, and collective intelligence of others. It's using the collective knowledge that web2.0 provides, to judge ideas, methodologies and measure the impact of an idea into reality.
Collaboration happens no matter what. People from al fields and skills will be on the site, but the driving force will be to look up problems, from small scale to large scale, and be able to post ideas and browse through ideas and methodologies that others have posted in order to guide you on your approach and perspective to any problem - its up to the users to post and tag them. You can contribute; you can look the person up see who they are and contact them; or you can simply browse through successful prototypes under any keyword and get inspired by how amazing some people are and how altruistic they must be to be sharing their success with others. (Obviously no greedy business guy won't share his method on how to run a business and make millions - the users will give ideas away because they want to share and expose). It would be open to the entire world and the profiling aspect of the site, makes you accountable for your individuality and the comments and judgments on other ideas, methodologies and applications.
I'm also really sorry to have missed so many classes and not having put my entire energy in all the projects. It's been a really heavy semester for me and I wish I could be producing as much as I would have liked to.
When I was introduced in the summer to Second Life, I was so amazed by its potential for a cultural shift, and I promised myself I'd get into it. But, it's been really hard for me to keep that promise, even to my web friend who's dying for me to get into it.
Hope your future classes continue you expand into new realms. All the best to you -
